Puff Puff Alone is Good But THIS! 😍

I present to youuuu…..my peanut butter and chocolate puff puff 🍫🥜⁣⁣
For those of you who don’t know what puff puff is, think of it as a Nigerian doughnut (it’s also eaten in other West African countries). Once you get it right, it’s honestly so easy to make! Plus, Puff Puff on its own is totally vegan 🌱. Hold on one second guys, I think the Nigerian president is calling to congratulate me….brb 😏


  • 3 cups of flour 
  • 2 tsp of instant yeast (if you use dried active yeast then don’t forget to proof it) 
  • 1 cup of sugar (I like mine sweet but you can use less)
  • 1 1/2 cups of water 
  • Chocolate (optional) 
  • Peanut butter (optional)


  1. Add your flour, yeast and sugar to a bowl and combine.
  2. Make a well in the centre and pour in 1 cup of water and mix. Add the remaining half cup bit by bit till it’s a little more wet but still thick. Mix this well and hard for about 30 seconds. 
  3. Cover with a tea towel or cling film and put it in a warm place to rise.
  4. Let it rise for 1-2 hours – the bigger the better!
  5. Once it has risen, heat up enough oil for frying on a medium to low heat.
  6. Scoop some of the mixture in your palm and squeeze it out through your thumb and index finger to create a ball shape into the oil. 
  7. Cook until golden and place it in a bowl with paper towels to soak the oil.
  8. Cover with sugar OR melt your chocolate and peanut butter and drizzle
